Dr. Fertels joined The Heart House in 2001 and is currently the coordinating administrator of our External Enhanced Counter Pulsation (EECP) program. He is double board-certified in Cardiovascular disease and Interventional Cardiology.

The check-in process is easy. I was called to an exam room shortly after I checked in. The girl I had take my vitals and do an ekg was very nice. Dr Fertels came in and was his cheery self. He takes the time to listen to you and address your questions. He’s compassionate and caring. I definitely would recommend him.

I have been coming to the Heart House for several years and have had great experiences with the doctors there but this has to be one of the nicest doctors I’ve had the pleasure of talking to. His positive attitude and attentiveness made me feel better than when I arrived. I was genuinely in a better mood after my appointment because of how good my visit was with Dr. Fertels. I love Dr. Fertel. He listens to you & makes the best decisions for me. I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else. He introduce me to doing EECP Therapy which helps your blood to circulate from your legs to your heart. Cindy is the woman who does this & she is fantastic & super nice & will be gentle with you. Dr Fertels listened to my issues which I recently experienced. By the time I left the office, he had renewed a prescription, reviewed my labs and ekg, made suggestions, scheduled several tests to be completed within days and contacted another Dr to obtain an earlier appt to address a few of my issues. I went to to my appointment yesterday with Doc. Fertels. First I want to say how very friendly the staff is. From the check in window to the nurses. They all made me feel so comfortable and they were so very friendly. The nurse explained everything she was doing with my EKG. Then Doc. Scott Fertels came in and was so very friendly and so down to earth. He explained everything to me in detail and gave me the green light to have my procedure done. And I will go back for my heart check up in a year. Everything is good with my heart. Thank you Doc Fertels and to the nurse and the staff at the check out window.
